Examples Of Eulogy For My Best Friend - 1079 Words

I am honored to have this opportunity to congratulate my brother Brett and his beautiful wife Jessica on this charming afternoon, in front of our newly extended family and friends. As many of you know, Brett and I are only 11 months apart, so we have not been away from each other for more than a year. Today, I am passing the role of being his best friend to his wife, and my new sister in law. I pray that you can embrace his true character, understand his personality, and that he will continue to teach you valuable lessons. Brett, don’t worry I won’t tell all of your embarrassing stories, or how you have teased me every day of my life, but I will highlight some of my favorite moments with you. I hope that his indomitable attitude leads to multiple adventures, endless love, and memories that last a lifetime. As I sat on my porch, pondering my next topic I noticed amid the light blue painted sky, radiating sun, and white, fluffy clouds were thousands of Christmas lights, still hung on the gutters with care. Now let me tell you, Christmas and Brett go together better than †¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦Ã¢â‚¬ ¦His severe obsession with Christmas began when he was old enough to go on the roof with my dad to decorate. Every year after Thanksgiving, Brett would be found blasting Christmas carols throughout our entire neighborhood. He would also spend at least half of his savings on decorations every year. So, believe me when I tell you that our house always looks like the Griswold’s from Christmas Vacation. Heck, our relatives from Florida can probably see the blow-up snowmen in our yard, light up Santa/Reindeer combo on the roof, and illuminating light show complete with music. As obnoxious as it is to hear people ask to come see my house each December, I truly admire Brett’s passion. From wakin g up at 5am on Christmas morning together, sneaking down to see our presents under the tree, or staying on the roof day after day until everything is perfect, he inspires me.
